Here is a raw unrestored image in which the negative no longer exists. A computer can be programmed to repair and clean up the image but it can't think and it's limited to what it can be programmed to do.

A well trained skilled operator can spot a lot of problems a computer can't see and in specific types of work like exhibitions or large image an automatic computer program can't handle that. Here is the final restored image and it's colour version which I did. Click on button to view
