The Railway
This is an image I took at a railway crossing back in the early 1980's and like a lot of photography then black and white was still in common use. That is actual black and white film was being used instead of the modern trend of using digital cameras and simply making the colour image mono. So not actually a b/w image in the true sense of the word. Mono film and colour have different properties which you don't get with modern digital cameras. Grain and a wider tonal range in particular.
I scanned the original negative and restored the b/w image and then spent a bit of time colourising the final image.
The colours are correct. The only difference I did was remove the orange cast which you would normally get in colour film used at night without the correct filter.
